The Women’s Collective Provides HIV Care and Prevention Services, including HIV Testing, Education and Awareness Activities Designed to Support Girls, Women and Their Families Living With and at risk

TWC is a leading community health and human service agency in Washington, DC that provide education and awareness activities designed to support girls and women living with HIV/AIDS and their families. The Women’s Collective is focused on HIV prevention and promoting resiliency among women and girls.

At TWC, we believe that HIV testing empowers women and girls to protect themselves, to educate their partners, and to plan for healthy families. Their prevention programs focus on early identification of HIV and setting in motion effective access to care. Our philosophy at TWC is that every woman who walks through our door is equal, whether she is a client, staff member, Board member or volunteer. Women are not judged based on their educational achievements or credentials, or their socio-economic background.

Many women have turned to social media for information and assistance needed, spending much time online looking for advice and solutions to living a healthy lifestyle. TWC seizes the opportunity to introduce the online community that gets women to discuss with like-minded ones, ask any questions they want, and get the support of the people who understand them. TWC is lauded as the ideal healthy platform for women to obtain the necessary assistance needed to live a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

The H.E.R. (Help + Empowerment + Resources) program designed by TWC to reduce the number of new HIV transmissions in high-risk communities has empowered million of people. The program provides outreach services, resources and linkage o HIV Prevention medication (PrEP) and other prevention tools that enable women and girls to take charge of their lives and health.

The Women’s Collective has also supplied women-specific services focused on care management, prevention, and policy and advocacy. In a warm and welcoming space, HIV-positive women and their families find acceptance, counseling and peer support, and daily living assistance. TWC is a safe, stigma-free place that reflects the founder's understanding of each person who enters as an individual with unique experiences and needs.

TWC’s goal is to bring together volunteers from diverse backgrounds to aid in creating sustainable projects in developing girl and women living with HIV, while also offering volunteers the opportunity to engage in fun extracurricular activities that embrace the life and culture to scale meaningful impact.
