ECTLC Groundbreaking & Trench-to-Pour in 24! Local Builders Donate Their Time, Talent & Treasure to Make a Difference and Build Hope For the Homeless

With the support of generous donors and the building community, East County Transitional Living Center (ECTLC) will break ground on two new dormitories. The buildings will house over 100 men and women, opening up 40 rooms for homeless families with children.

EL CAJON, CA - On Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., East County Transitional Living Center (ECTLC) will start construction on two new buildings. Thanks to the generous support of donors, members of the building community, and hard-working tradesmen donating their time, the entire project is financed with private donations. The number of children living at ECTLC will grow from 180 to 250.

WHAT: On Friday, contractors will begin a one-of-kind building schedule. They will start the underground work and continue on Saturday, ending when they pour the foundations. From start to finish, they will complete the Trench-to-Pour in 24 hours. The second phase of Building Hope for the Homeless is the extraordinary One-Day Build.

WHY: To expand the capacity of ECTLC and provide more housing for homeless families with children.

Since 2009, East County Transitional Living Center (ECTLC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, has served homeless men, women, and families experiencing the danger and despair of homelessness. ECTLC operates four programs, Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, Family Restoration Ministry, and Men's and Women's Discipleship Ministries.
