Mar 2, 2021 – Highly referred and referenced writers, Rachael Price and Annelise Myrie have in Elissy’s World: Same but Different” carefully crafted and told a children’s story that explains the journey to personal discovery in a world full of many individuals with different personalities.
The children’s book, edited and independently released by Annelise mother Claudia Myrie, utilizes the principle of the highly referred freedom fighter, Martin Luther King Jr, to pass the message of living in harmony and overcoming wrong by doing right. The writers, Rachael and her goddaughter Annelise, center the book on Elissy; a little girl who represents the challenges people of color face in an increasingly racist and divided world, and the critical need for love and tolerance for all people.
Crucially, it focuses on enriching children’s minds with the lofty principle of love which is the greatest of all laws. The book tells the story of the real experience of Annelise, and was crafted by Rachael out of concerns for thousands of growing children who are immensely pressured by the society and downcast because of their originality and difference.

Simultaneously, the book also include lessons on how younger ones can navigate their life into becoming who they are uniquely meant to be without sabotaging their unique personality on the altar of conformity. The book talks about how racism can be overcome with the principle of love which Elissy embraced in overcoming the wrong attitude Karen showed to her. She won Karen over with love, instead of animosity and strife.
About the Authors:
Rachael is a passionate humanist who believes in standing and speaking against injustice and lending a helping hand and voice to the cause of the helpless. Annelise, the goddaughter of Rachael, is a young child whose lived experience forms the book, encouraging children that, “the World is Yours”.
