Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Erin Nieto’s debut novel, Love and Conductivity, is set to release on February 11. Inspired by the extraordinary discovery in an Urbana attic of century-old letters between a poet and a scientist, this novel breathes new life into an era of profound historical significance, via an immersive, timeless tale of love, resilience, and the uncharted territories of both the heart and the world.
“Nieto has magicked a story that is perfectly of its time and ours, as every page rings with echoes that resonate today. I was swept away by the emotional depth of this slow-burn love story and its conclusion left me teary-eyed and tingling with the best kind of goosebumps,” says Erin Lindsay McCabe, USA Today Bestselling author of I Shall Be Near To You.
Set in the aftermath of World War One, Love and Conductivity introduces Eleanor Morgan, a teacher of poetry whose dreams of adventure light up her life. With aspirations of seeing the West, joining the Navy, and exploring the North Pole, Eleanor believes she has no room for romance. That is, until a fateful encounter with Erwin Phipps, a physical chemist and Army lieutenant, ignites a connection she cannot shake.
After their chance meeting, fate intervenes over a year later when a belated New Year’s greeting from Erwin arrives to Eleanor on Valentine’s Day. Across the barriers of distance, duty, and mutual fear of vulnerability, their correspondence becomes a journey into the most perilous adventure she has ever dared: love itself.
Readers and reviewers alike are sure to be enchanted by Eleanor and Erwin’s story.
Love and Conductivity will be published by Koehler Books, and available in hardcover, paperback, and ebook at major retailers and online booksellers starting February 11. For more information about Erin Nieto, upcoming events, or media inquiries, please visit esnieto.com.
