Lighthouse Treatment Center Takes Part in 2nd Annual Sober Prom

Anaheim, California - The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a leading drug and alcohol addiction rehab facility based in Anaheim, California, proudly participated as a sponsor in the 2nd Annual Sober Prom. The event, hosted by The Phoenix - Orange County, took place on August 3, 2024, at the Brookhurst Community Center, offering an evening of fun, camaraderie, and celebration for those in recovery.

The Phoenix - Orange County, which organized the Sober Prom, aims to foster a supportive and physically active community for individuals recovering from alcohol and substance abuse. The event brought together various treatment centers and organizations from across Orange County, providing a safe and inclusive environment for all attendees.

The Lighthouse Treatment Center’s involvement in the Sober Prom is part of its ongoing commitment to support community activities that promote healthy, sober living. Peter Davidson, COO and President of Lighthouse Treatment Center, emphasized the importance of such events in achieving the center’s goals.

“Community activities like the Sober Prom play a vital role in advancing our mission at Lighthouse. These events not only offer our clients and alumni a chance to connect with one another but also provide a supportive atmosphere where they can celebrate their recovery journey together. It’s incredibly important for individuals in recovery to have opportunities to bond over shared experiences and triumphs, especially in a fun and safe environment that encourages positivity and joy. We firmly believe that fostering a strong sense of community is essential for achieving long-term sobriety and enhancing overall well-being. By creating spaces for connection and celebration, we help individuals build lasting relationships and support networks that are critical to their continued success,” said Davidson.

The 2024 Sober Prom was a night to remember, featuring a DJ, a photo booth, and a royal court. Guests enjoyed snacks and drinks while dancing the night away in a supportive, alcohol-free atmosphere.

Heidy Hunter, Alumni Coordinator at the Lighthouse Treatment Center, shared her thoughts on the memorable night.

"Sober prom was such an amazing experience, and we all had a blast! One of the highlights was Alex and Maria, a couple who had been together for over 20 years but had never been to prom. It really turned into a special moment for everyone. We loved dressing up, the music was fantastic, and the photo booth added so much fun. Plus, a young man proposed to his future wife during the event, and she said yes! All the Lighthouse alumni had a great time and expressed how much they wanted to do it again. It’s always a joy to dress up and share meaningful, sober moments together," said Hunter.

Attendees of the Sober Prom included alumni of the Lighthouse Treatment Center, who expressed their gratitude and joy for the event. These moments of connection and celebration are integral to the recovery process, reinforcing the importance of community support.

The Lighthouse Treatment Center is dedicated to not only providing top-notch addiction treatment services but also supporting events and activities that enhance the recovery journey. The Sober Prom is just one example of how the center actively engages with the community to promote lasting sobriety and a healthy lifestyle.

The success of the 2nd Annual Sober Prom underscores the significance of such initiatives in the recovery community and highlights the Lighthouse Treatment Center’s commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for all.
