Epidermolysis Bullosa Support: Charity Solicits Donations For Affected Infants

No Baby Blisters (469-431-2343) is soliciting support through its Hero Guardian Angel program to assist babies and families living with epidermolysis bullosa, a rare and life-threatening genetic skin condition.

-- With approximately one in 20,000 to one in 50,000 live births diagnosed with epidermolysis bullosa, No Baby Blisters is calling attention to the urgent medical and financial strain faced by families managing the disease, while mobilizing public support to sustain care and accelerate research toward a long-term cure.

Epidermolysis bullosa, commonly referred to as EB, is caused by a genetic mutation that prevents the skin from forming normal bonds between layers. As a result, even minor friction or heat can cause severe blistering, skin loss, infection, and extreme pain. In its most severe forms, infants may experience up to 80 percent skin loss, with many not surviving past early childhood.

With EB classified as an orphan disease, affecting fewer than 200,000 people nationwide, funding for treatment and research remains limited, the charity says. Many large charities and public health organizations do not cover the condition, leaving families with few options for support while facing ongoing medical costs tied to pain medicine, bandages, wound healing, nutrition, blood transfusions, hospitalizations, antibiotics, and IVs.

“Families caring for a child with EB are dealing with constant medical needs that don’t pause,” said Dr. Aaron Tabor, founder of No Baby Blisters. “Our goal is to help relieve that burden now, while continuing the work needed to change the long-term outlook for these children.”

Through its Hero Guardian Angel program, No Baby Blisters delivers monthly financial support directly to affected children and their families. These funds are used to help cover essential supplies and treatments needed to manage daily pain, reduce infection risk, and support basic quality of life for infants living with EB.

Alongside direct care, the organization funds its Fast Cure Plan, a research initiative focused on developing a full-body, systemic treatment for EB. The research effort is led by a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, genetic skin therapy specialists, and FDA experts.

Donations to No Baby Blisters are tax-deductible, and the organization maintains transparency around how contributions are allocated, allowing supporters to track how funds are used to provide care and advance treatment development.

No Baby Blisters operates as a global organization and focuses on direct, immediate care for children suffering from EB. The charity reports having helped more than 5,100 children worldwide, providing support to families across multiple countries where treatment access is limited or unavailable.
