British Glioblastoma Victim & Partner Appeal For Brain Cancer Treatment Donation

A UK woman is appealing to the public for help as her partner faces a rare and aggressive brain cancer diagnosis. The £100K GoFundMe campaign has raised less than 7% of its target.

-- Asta Pratapaviciene has launched a GoFundMe campaign, 'You're My Only Hope,' to raise £100,000 for her partner Raimondas, who was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma. This fast-growing brain tumour is known for its resistance to standard therapies and, in many cases, requires treatments beyond those approved by the NHS.

Despite the NHS providing essential care, many glioblastoma patients in the UK encounter significant barriers to accessing the latest treatments. According to a recent study of adult glioblastoma in England, only 29% of patients receive the full combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, while 21% receive no treatment at all. For those like Raimondas, whose cancer does not respond to conventional options, private care may be the only hope.

"Raimondas is the heart of our family," Asta shares. "We built our life together after overcoming so much, and now we're facing the biggest challenge yet. The treatment he needs is simply not available to us through public healthcare, and time is not on our side."

Glioblastoma affects around 3,000 people in the UK each year, with survival rates remaining stubbornly low. Newer therapies—such as immunotherapy and targeted molecular treatments—are showing promise, but are often only accessible through private clinics due to their cost and experimental nature.

The 'You're My Only Hope' campaign has already received support from over 160 donors, but much more is needed to reach the goal. Every contribution will help fund a personalized treatment plan designed to give Raimondas the best possible chance, Asta explains.

Asta adds, "We're asking for your kindness and support to help us afford this treatment. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us closer to giving Raimondas a fighting chance. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and for any help you can give."
