For the first time in motorsport history, a professional race team will go all in to support two young drivers through an entire international GT racing season.
-- Not just with coaching or simulator training, but by putting them side by side with experienced pros in actual race conditions.
Today in Prague, Buggyra Academy, part of Buggyra ZM Racing, unveiled its FACE OFF program, a bold and unprecedented motorsport masterclass tailored to young Czech racers Filip Nedoma (18) and Miroslav Mikeš (16). The two will race full-time in the 2025 GT Cup Series, each paired with a seasoned pro: Buggyra racers Aliyyah Koloc and Adam Lacko.
“Since 2019, Buggyra Academy has been at the forefront of helping young racers, as well as young promising motorsport personnel, advance into professional motorsport,” said Martin Koloc, CEO and team principal of Buggyra ZM Racing. “Simulator training is important, but nothing beats the real competition. We wanted to give our Academy youngsters not just a one-off test or race; we wanted to fully immerse them in the real racing. But it is also a unique and important experience for the whole team, the engineers and mechanics, many of whom are still very young and will benefit from learning from the senior staff. ”
The team chose the GT Cup Series specifically because of its competitive yet flexible format, offering the best environment for young drivers to learn under actual race conditions. Each driver pairing will compete as a team, following the official GT Cup regulations, but under the umbrella of the FACE OFF learning structure.
To track progress, Buggyra has developed a unique internal points system based on race performance, progress in skills, and even fan votes to determine which of the two youngsters develops most over the season. “However, this is not a championship within a championship,” stresses Buggyra Academy CEO Jan Koubec: “We designed the FACE OFF program to be the most realistic learning environment possible where GT Cup Series rules and regulations fully apply. Our program is all about providing a safe yet competitive learning space for our two young drivers.”
The FACE OFF program also includes intensive simulator training at Buggyra’s factory near Prague, and full behind-the-scenes access for the fans. From strategy meetings to race-day emotions, everything will be filmed and shared unfiltered on the team’s YouTube channel (LINK: https://youtu.be/hVH92I9ezPc ).
The first race of the GT Cup Series, and thus the official start of the FACE OFF program, will take place at Austria’s Red Bull Ring from May 16–18.
