NOLA Plumbing Services Companies Analyze 2024 PHCPPros Water Heater Report

New Orleans, Louisiana based National Economy Plumbers takes a closer look at the 2024 PHCPPros water heater report focusing on minimizing energy consumption while improving heater performance.

-- New Orleans-based plumbing services companies, including National Economy Plumbers - boasting more than 80 years of experience in the plumber industry - have been taking a closer look at the 2024 PHCPPros Water Heater Report, focusing on the water heater manufacturers that continue to minimize energy consumption while improving the performance of their products.

PHCPPros represents the professional plumbing, heating, cooling and piping community that covers all aspects of these industries for 100,000 professional engineers, distributors and contractors.

“From gas and electric to hybrid, tank and tankless options - and even the need for direct, point-of-use and indirect options - there’s no doubt about it: the variety of product lines available to meet water heater market demands are ever-increasing,” states National Economy Plumbers’ David Howard. “Recently, PHCPPros surveyed manufacturers in the industry for their insights on the trends currently impacting the water heater market, and inquired about the specific product innovations that set their product lines apart from the competition for their 2024 Water Heater Report.

“From all the data points our representatives gathered from the report, electrification and decarbonization initiatives to drive greater efficiency were at the top of the list for many respondents, as was the need for greater connectivity and integrated system solutions. To no one’s surprise, the regulatory environment continues to drive change throughout the industry - something we’ve regularly seen here at National Economy.”

According to National Economy representatives as well as those of various water heater manufacturers, Department of Energy regulatory changes regarding commercial water heating efficiencies are rapidly approaching, beginning in October 2026. The overall shift to electrification, based on data analyzed by these entities, is expected to continue, as are incentives for contractors to meet efficiency standards in the form of rebates and tax credits.

“With the focus on electrification and decarbonization, as well as an increasing interest in high-efficiency electric solutions that promote sustainability without sacrificing performance, trends in the water heater industry going forward appear to be pointing towards complete decarbonization or full electrification solutions,” adds Howard. “Something we’re currently keeping an eye on is the combination of electric boilers for space heating with indirect water heaters, a fusion which offers a streamlined approach to meet decarbonization targets and local regulations.”

Indirect water heaters, Howard notes, enable facilities to fully electrify both space heating and DHW systems, enhancing energy efficiency while avoiding the need for large storage tanks or an increase in footprint - issues, Howard says, typically associated with heat pumps and electric water heaters.

Among the myriad of services National Economy Plumbers provides is servicing water heaters for those residing in the New Orleans area, regularly keeping customers abreast of the importance of a properly-functioning water heater, signs that indicate the need for water heater service, benefits of professional water installations and more.

Beyond water heater repair solutions, the locally owned and family operated plumbing company offers sewer camera inspection services, sewer line repair, general plumbing repair, drain cleaning, sewer repair, sewer line replacement and gas line repair.
