-- Acclaimed writer, director, and playwright Antony J. Bowman, best known for his hit feature film Paperback Hero starring Hugh Jackman, now turns his storytelling talents to the world of children’s literature with the release of his enchanting new book, ‘The Tale of Fergus and Una’.

A beautifully written and illustrated story of love, courage, and family, ‘The Tale of Fergus and Una’ follows two dragon siblings whose unbreakable bond is tested when darkness falls upon their world. When Fergus becomes trapped in a cold, lonely cave, his younger sister Una must summon every ounce of bravery and heart to bring him home.
At once whimsical and deeply emotional, the book explores universal themes of bravery, kindness, and the enduring power of love. With its lyrical prose and timeless message, Fergus and Una is destined to become a modern classic for readers young and old.
“The story began as a simple bedtime tale,” Bowman says. “But as I wrote, it became something much more, a story about finding light in dark places and the quiet strength that comes from love and family.”
A graduate of the London Film School, Bowman’s career spans international film, television, and theatre. His feature Paperback Hero, released through Universal Pictures, was adapted from his own Penguin Books novel and screened In Competition at both the Hollywood and Milan Film Festivals. Bowman’s storytelling is known for its warmth, humor, and humanity; qualities that shine in his debut children’s book.
Throughout his career, Bowman has received numerous accolades, including the Silver Screen Award (Chicago Film Festival), a Bronze Award (New York Film Festival), and the Audience Choice Award at the BHFF in Hollywood for his short thriller Angel Road. His credits also include Relatives (AWG Nomination for Best Feature Screenplay), Cappuccino, Three-Sixty (In Competition – Flickerfest 2013), and Blackmail (Almost Broadway), now streaming on Amazon.
With The Tale of Fergus and Una, Bowman opens a new creative chapter, one that carries his hallmark blend of heart, imagination, and emotional depth to a new generation of readers.
