Offering unbiased content, peer forums, clinics, study groups, and an annual symposium for SFO professionals worldwide
Amid an ever-wider array of financial-technology and advisory choices, leaner teams, and escalating UHNW family expectations—and often operating in peer isolation—single-family office (SFO) professionals face mounting operational pressure. SFO professionals are increasingly tackling a variety of near and long-term issues due to the unique family structure they support, including succession planning, operational and technology concerns, cybersecurity protection, generational wealth transfer, market uncertainty, and more.
The Ultra High Net Worth Institute (UHNW Institute), an independent, nonprofit think tank advancing the practice of wealth management, recognizes these SFO pressures and is announcing the formal launch today of the Single Family Office (SFO) Circle, a new offering to support and empower operational professionals with thought leadership, peer learning and curated experiences as part of a global community.
According to a Deloitte Private family wealth 2024 report, there are over 8,000 single-family offices in the world today - a 31% increase over 2019. The UHNW Institute is looking to invite this global community of single-family office professionals to consider seeking membership with an organization that understands the issues they face, along with accessing a suite of tools and deep expertise and resources they can draw upon to support their job responsibilities.
“We are proud to offer access to exclusive content and practice management thought leadership, programming, and training made available with distinguished faculty and experts across the wealth management spectrum,” said Steve Prostano, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of the UHNW Institute. “The ultimate mission of this new offering is to provide an intellectual framework and shared understanding of how SFOs operate and evolve with education and peer to peer learning at the core of the SFO Circle.”

Kristen Oliveri Joins SFO Circle to Spearhead Growth
Kristen Oliveri, a noted wealth management journalist and thought leader with over two decades of experience covering and engaging with the family wealth industry, joined the UHNW Institute this spring to conceptualize and spearhead the SFO Circle offering as the UHNW Institute’s Senior Family Office Advisor and Co-chair of the SFO Executive Advisor Board. Oliveri is tasked with helping to deliver this offering to the Single Family Office market and driving membership growth.
Oliveri added, “We began exploring the SFO Circle offering over two years ago, connecting with SFO leaders to learn more about where and how the UHNW Institute could provide value to professionalize, future-proof, and align their office operations. We heard clearly they wanted value-added content that was relevant, actionable, and objective. Additionally, we believe we can provide support and guidance around many of their operational needs, which we identify in our practice management pillars, as infrastructure/operations, talent, stakeholders, and principal services.”
SFO Circle Membership Criteria
Parties interested in joining the UHNW Institute SFO Circle offering are welcome, both within and outside the U.S. A prospective member must be either a senior-level executive or an experienced professional with at least five years of experience in a family office. The office must serve a single family and may or may not operate an active business alongside the single-family office. All applicants are vetted by the UHNW Institute to ensure alignment with membership standards. Membership options include individual and enterprise membership.
Individuals can email Oliveri to explore further details about the offering, including the membership fees at KOliveri@uhnwinstitute.org.
The 5th Annual UHNW Institute Symposium Invite
The UHNW Institute is also hosting its 5th Annual UHNW Symposium: November 17-18, 2025, in New York City. This two-day event covers wealth management and multiple family office market topics presented by industry experts. It will also feature a single family office workshop led by a family office advisory board member focused on governance and vision aligned operations in a family office.
