Gravity Acquires coUrbanize to Help Governments Meet 2026 Mandates and Enhance Community Engagement

Strategic acquisition creates a unified platform for financial reporting and community engagement, setting a new standard for transparency as governments prepare to meet 2026 ADA mandates.

Gravity, a purpose-built platform for reporting, budgeting, and public sector compliance, today announced the acquisition of coUrbanize, a GovTech 100 company. coUrbanize is the leading community engagement platform used by local governments to enhance communication with residents and meet increasing transparency standards. With this acquisition, Gravity strengthens its position in public sector reporting by offering agencies a single platform for compliance, budgeting, disclosures, and community engagement.

coUrbanize adds a suite of engagement tools to Gravity’s platform, including built-in translation, ADA compliance, and multi-channel feedback through comments, texts, emails, and live polling. Its AI-powered reporting distills community sentiment into insights that link directly to budgeting and planning. With new ADA mandates set to take effect in 2026, the acquisition strengthens Gravity’s ability to help governments meet these requirements through an integrated solution that transforms financial data into an ADA-compliant transparency and engagement portal.

“coUrbanize’s platform equips our customers with the tools they need to stay ahead of changing compliance requirements while leading with transparency and accessibility,” said Tyler Davey, CEO of Gravity. “This acquisition reflects our growth strategy, expanding our product capabilities so governments can seamlessly connect with the communities they serve.”

Gravity’s platform now enables finance teams to publish ACFRs, PAFRs, and Budget Books in an ADA-compliant portal, turning mandatory reports into opportunities for citizen engagement and collaboration.

In addition, Gravity’s platform now offers:

  • Plug-and-play engagement platform with built-in language translation and ADA compliance
  • AI-generated reports that automatically distill community sentiment into actionable insights
  • Multi-channel engagement tools—website comments, text/voicemail feedback, email updates, and live polling for broader reach and inclusion
  • Seamless integration of budgets, planning, reporting, and public input.

“We’ve seen how inclusive engagement brings forward voices that might otherwise go unheard,” said Karin Brandt, Founder of coUrbanize and now GM of Community Engagement at Gravity. “Bringing this capability into government means every budget and report can reflect the needs and ideas of the community. In harnessing community engagement and partnering with Gravity, we will realize the vision of empowering governments to communicate transparently with citizens and community members.”

The acquisition reflects Gravity’s commitment to expanding its capabilities, enabling governments to stay ahead of changing compliance requirements, strengthen community engagement, and lead with transparency.
