One-Hour Event to Air Friday, August 15 Across All iHeartRadio Country Stations and The iHeartRadio App
iHeartMedia is joining forces with Stand Up To Cancer® (SU2C) for the organization’s ninth biennial one-hour, commercial-free special airing Friday, August 15, at 8 p.m. ET and PT / 7 p.m. CT. The live event will be available for the first time to iHeartRadio listeners nationwide through a dedicated audio-only stream across all iHeart Country broadcast radio stations and on the iHeartRadio app.
The hour-long special will air on iHeart’s stations as well as simultaneously on over 30 participating media platforms across the United States. This year marks the first time that the SU2C telecast will be broadcast from Nashville, taking place at The Pinnacle, a premier venue in the heart of Music City.
The show promises an unforgettable night of music and star-studded moments in support of groundbreaking cancer research. Telecast viewers will also hear from leading SU2C-funded researchers about recent advances and why continued support is vital in the fight against this disease. From early detection to new treatment approaches, many survivors' stories reflect the real-world impact of SU2C-funded research and the hope it brings to patients and families.
“iHeartCountry radio stations have a long history of supporting the critically important work of pediatric cancer initiatives, and this collaboration is a natural extension of our commitment to invest in research that will lead to a cure,” said Rod Phillips, Executive Vice President of Programming, iHeartCountry. “We look forward to using our unparalleled reach to amplify the vital mission of Stand Up To Cancer by uniting communities across America in the fight against cancer.”
Since its inception, SU2C has united over 3,100 top researchers from more than 210 leading institutions across 16 countries to collaborate on advancing cancer research. This unprecedented cooperation has contributed to saving tens of thousands of lives worldwide and continues SU2C's 17-year mission to accelerate breakthroughs in cancer treatment and prevention.

About Stand Up To Cancer
Stand Up To Cancer® (SU2C) raises awareness and funds research to detect and treat cancers with the aspiration to cure all patients. SU2C is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and was initially launched as a division of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is SU2C’s scientific partner. A Scientific Advisory Committee, led by William G. Nelson, M.D., Ph.D., conducts rigorous competitive review processes to identify the best research proposals to recommend for funding, oversee grants administration, and provide expert review of research progress.
