New training updates strengthen child safety measures with live instruction, updated content, and AI education
Protect Youth Sports, a leader in custom background screening management solutions for youth athletics, recreational, and community organizations, has launched the latest updates to their Child Safety Training program. Featuring brand-new volunteer and employee training modules, the upgraded program reflects the latest best practices in child safety related background screening management, offering a more user-friendly experience while equipping participants with the tools that support their effort to identify and prevent abuse.
“Child safety requires constant vigilance,” said Tom Ellis, Executive Vice President of Protect Youth Sports. “These updates reinforce our collective goal to equip organizations with the industry leading tools that enhance their ability to prevent abuse, recognize warning signs, and foster safe environments for our young athletes and communities.”
With 90% of child abuse cases involving someone the child knows and trusts, organizations must take proactive steps to recognize early warning signs and prevent abuse. The updated training supports participants by providing knowledge and tools that are helpful in identifying grooming behaviors, responding appropriately, and building a culture of safety. Key areas of improvement from the update include:
- Live Instruction: Based on participant feedback, training visuals have been upgraded from animations to live recordings, making the content more engaging and impactful.
- Refreshed Statistics: Statistics and curriculum content now reflect the latest research on child abuse, prevention strategies, and the impact on victims and organizations.
- New AI-Related Safety Content: As threats evolve, so must prevention measures. The updated training now includes education on AI-related risks and the exploitation of emerging technologies.
- Updated Reference Guides: Training is not a one-time event. Newly designed, downloadable PDF guides allow participants to continue referencing training materials long after completion.
Additionally, the staff training module has been approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services for child sexual abuse prevention. To ensure comprehension and accountability, all staff members must pass a final quiz to earn a certification of completion, reinforcing an organization's commitment to child safety.
The enhanced Child Safety Training program is now available for youth sports organizations, recreational programs, and community groups looking to strengthen child protection policies and practices.
