The Rice Family Foundation (“Foundation”) is pleased to announce it has awarded grant funds to seventy nonprofit organizations as part of its 2025 efforts to support community initiatives.
Founded in 2017, The Rice Family Foundation supports eligible nonprofits, primarily located in Hanover, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding area, that dedicate their time, efforts, and resources to foster a better community. The Foundation is supported by financial commitments from Mike & Jane Rice and Dylan & Stacie Lissette, third- and fourth-generation members of the Utz Snacks family.
Each year, the Foundation carefully reviews numerous applications to ensure its grants are awarded to exceptional organizations and initiatives with the greatest impact on the community.
In 2025, the Foundation is honored to support a remarkable group of organizations that make a meaningful impact on our communities. This year’s recipients include Ruth’s Harvest, a free ministry of the Hanover Area Council of Churches, which provides vital nourishment to children facing hunger, and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, an organization working tirelessly to end hunger across 27 counties in Central Pennsylvania. Together, these organizations exemplify the Foundation’s commitment to addressing critical needs and fostering lasting community support.
Another notable recipient is New Hope Ministries, an organization that provides compassionate support to individuals and families facing financial hardship, illness, or crisis by meeting their most basic needs. By providing food, housing assistance, utility support, and job training programs, New Hope Ministries safeguards families from crisis and upholds their dignity in the community. Said Molly Helmstetter, Director of Development, New Hope Ministries, “This generous support enables us not only to put nourishing food on the tables of families who are struggling, but also to strengthen the infrastructure that ensures our services remain strong and sustainable. We are grateful for partners like The Rice Family Foundation, whose commitment helps us reach more people at the very moment they need it most.”
The seventy nonprofit organizations selected this year for grants stand as a testament to the unwavering resolve of individuals and teams who provide vital care, support, and compassion to those navigating significant hardships. “We are honored that The Rice Family Foundation had the opportunity to stand behind these remarkable nonprofits,” said Stacie Lissette, Director, The Rice Family Foundation. “The difference they make in strengthening our community is uplifting, and we hope their dedication encourages others to join in offering support to those who need it most.”
