“We’re excited to officially be a part of the Orono community,” remarked Chris Webster, president of Tyler’s ERP & Civic Division. “Tyler has had a significant presence in Maine for decades. We’re thrilled to expand our footprint with this new state-of-the-art, energy-efficient facility in the heart of Orono.”

This new building boasts many attractive features including:

  • A contemporary, open work area
  • Focus rooms for virtual meeting participation and client collaboration
  • Huddle spaces for small group work and hybrid or virtual meetings
  • Training room, which can be used by the community during non-office hours
  • Fitness center, locker room, and game room for employees

On hand to celebrate the important occasion alongside Tyler were local community members, University of Maine leaders, the architect, and the construction project team.

“Consigli is grateful for Tyler’s partnership throughout the construction process as we worked to deliver new office and working spaces that are representative of the collaboration, innovation, and growth that the Tyler Technologies team will undoubtedly deliver to the University of Maine, the Orono community, and Maine’s regional economy,” said Matthew Tonello, Consigli Construction Co., Inc. project executive.

This expansion allows for greater collaboration with the University of Maine in Orono. In 2021, Tyler Technologies initiated a partnership with the Foster Center for Innovation at UMaine for Tyler’s annual Maine App Challenge. This contest provides Maine high school students the opportunity to explore software design and development by building a mobile application. Tyler has donated $100,000 in scholarship money since the program began.

Webster added, “The University of Maine has been a source of excellent talent for Tyler over the years, particularly in the technology and engineering space. We’re confident our physical presence in Orono will further build our long-standing practice of hiring UMaine interns and graduates.”

Tyler has more than 1,250 employees based in Maine. The company has been recognized as one of the best places to work in Maine for 16 years, most recently in 2023.
