Redpanda Streamfest speakers include experts from poolside, Snowflake, Intercontinental Exchange, Dun & Bradstreet, Cohere and Qdrant
Redpanda, the all-in-one streaming data platform, today kicked off its first annual Redpanda Streamfest conference, bringing thousands of developers, data engineers, and data architects together for five hours of technical sessions, live demos, and a hands-on workshop to help attendees optimize real-time applications, analytics and AI use cases using streaming data.
Notable event speakers include:
- Alex Gallego, founder and CEO of Redpanda
- Eiso Kant, co-founder and CTO of poolside
- Tyler Akidau, distinguished software engineer at Snowflake
- Raghul Nandagopal, VP of engineering & chief architect at Dun & Bradstreet
- Anand Pradhan, head of AI at Intercontinental Exchange
“The hero of the Redpanda story has always been the builder – the doer, with hands on the keyboard actively building the future,” said Redpanda founder and CEO Alex Gallego. “We are proud to have built this event around this community and are confident that every attendee will walk away excited about the direction of Redpanda and the future of data streaming.”
AI Hackathon Winners Announced
At Streamfest, Redpanda will also formally present the winners of its AI hackathon, where hundreds of developers worldwide leveraged the power of Redpanda to develop interesting AI projects:
- First Place: Sovereign Structure by Dan Goodman, a project that uses AI to find structure from chaos in unstructured messages.
- Second Place: Vita App by Yesid Lopez and Sara Ortiz Drada, a project that uses data from CGM sensors for real-time glucose monitoring.
- Third Place: Intelmail by Amal Baby and Sree Bindu Mandava, a project that uses Redpanda for real-time classification and response of emails.
- Best Industry Solution: Dine Hub by Bhat Soorim, a project that leverages GenAI to help travelers, foodies, and owners ask in natural language questions about a restaurant, like “What’s your best dish?”.
“Redpanda really is wildly easier to use than similar solutions in both the streaming and inference space. This, combined with great support in the Redpanda Community on Slack, allowed me to rapidly iterate on this project,” stated Dan Goodman regarding his winning project.
Redpanda is a simple, yet powerful Apache Kafka-compatible streaming data platform designed to eliminate complexity, reduce costs, and increase the performance of real-time applications. The company recently announced its Redpanda 24.3 platform, which included the official announcement of Iceberg Topics in Redpanda and Postgres Change Data Capture (CDC) for streamlining integrations with databases, AI models, and security.
Redpanda Streamfest is a one-day, no-cost virtual conference that showcases the latest streaming data technologies and techniques. Additionally, Redpanda Support and engineering staff will be available to answer questions in an AMA format in which attendees win prizes for asking challenging technical questions.
Session recordings will be available at a later date. To register and to learn more about Redpanda Streamfest, visit: https://www.redpanda.com/streamfest
