NationSwell Summit Returns to New York, Celebrates Ten Years of Impact

NationSwell Summit, the premier gathering for impact practitioners from the nation’s most influential, purpose-driven organizations, will return to New York following a nearly three year hiatus. Past speakers include Salesforce CEO and co-founder Marc Benioff, former Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Black Lives Matter co-founder Alicia Garza, and environmentalist Bill McKibben.

To celebrate ten years of impact, NationSwell, an invitation-only, executive membership community and advisory, is excited to announce the return of its Summit, an annual convening of social impact, sustainability, ESG, and philanthropy leaders whose work is advancing economic, social and environmental progress. NationSwell Summit will be held on Thursday in New York; the theme this year is “Better and Bolder.”

“We chose ‘Better and Bolder’ because the companies, investment firms and foundations we support as part of our community of practice are advancing extraordinary and promising solutions to our biggest challenges,” Greg Behrman, NationSwell CEO and founder, said. “They see the needs all around them and are striving to meet the moment. They are always pushing to drive greater outcomes and accelerate their progress, and the Summit is designed to provide them with the time to reflect, explore, share, connect, learn and act; to be better and bolder as leaders and in service to others.”

NationSwell’s Summit will explore the key themes of how leaders can be better and bolder in advancing sustainability, economic mobility, business for good, human connection and purpose-driven leadership. Speakers, presenters and participants on the NationSwell Summit stage include Hamdi Ulukaya, Chobani CEO and founder and Tent Partnership for Refugees founder; Ruha Benjamin, author of “Viral Justice” and Princeton University professor of African American Studies; Michael Tubbs, former Mayor of Stockton, California and special advisor to California Governor Gavin Newsom for economic mobility and opportunity; T. Morgan Dixon, co-founder of GirlTrek and more.

NationSwell President Uyen Tieu and NationSwell Chief Experience Officer Jason Rissman will emcee.

“We’re thrilled to take the stage and welcome the NationSwell Summit back to New York City,” NationSwell President Uyen Tieu said. “The leaders on our stage and in our audience face immense, unprecedented opportunity — and also immense responsibility. The issues are urgent, the windows for action are closing and everyone is paying attention.”

“They’re working without a playbook, on ground that’s constantly shifting due to changes in policy, regulations, social norms and culture — and they need help,” Rissman added. “We’re delighted to be there in support and service of their work: to celebrate what they’ve accomplished, and to architect the NationSwell Summit around giving them the better and bolder tools they need to meet the immense opportunity of this moment.”

This year's NationSwell Summit is sponsored by Verizon, Walton Family Foundation, and Cerberus Capital Management. The event is designed to spark conversations, inspire collaboration and broaden perspectives on impact as it is practiced.

After a hiatus due to the global pandemic, the Summit will convene hundreds of senior executives, investors, philanthropists, and social entrepreneurs who are at the vanguard of driving social, economic, and environmental progress. Past speakers include Salesforce CEO and co-founder Marc Benioff, Black Lives Matter co-founder Alicia Garza, former Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and environmentalist Bill McKibben.

“NationSwell Summit isn’t just a celebration of ten years of impact — it’s a testament to our commitment to bring together the brightest minds and most innovative solutions in the impact space,” Behrman said. “We believe that by connecting in new ways, by providing expert-led research, and by thoughtfully curating programming that matches their needs, we can be their partner in helping them meet the moment and develop better and bolder solutions for the most pressing issues facing the people they serve.”

Registration to attend the NationSwell Summit closed on Tuesday morning. For more information on the NationSwell Summit and to view the full speaker lineup, visit the event’s digital hub.
