“George and Ernest bring decades of corporate leadership experience and executive-level insight to our board,” said Republic Bank Executive Chair Steve Trager. “Their perspectives are invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Marshall has more than 24 years of global HR experience, currently serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Eaton, a $21 billion power management company with more than 90,000 employees globally. Prior to Eaton, Marshall served as the Vice President, Human Resources Leader for GE Aviation. He currently serves on the boards of Republic Bank, the Company, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Kindway Organization, and is also a member of Bellarmine University’s board of trustees.

“Supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and making sure our future leaders are equipped to succeed is so important to me,” Marshall said. “Seeing Republic's leadership embrace it in all areas of the Bank has been inspiring and is one of the many reasons I got involved on the board. I’m thrilled to receive this recognition and hope to continue serving as a champion as the Bank evolves.”

Nichols, who was appointed to Republic Bank’s Board in July 2020 and the Company’s Board in April 2021, has spent nearly three decades in the financial services industry and currently serves as President & CEO of The American College of Financial Services in Pennsylvania. Prior to this role, he served in various senior leadership roles with New York Life Insurance Company during a 17-year tenure. Nichols also has strong ties to Kentucky, including having served as the first African American insurance commissioner for the state of Kentucky, leading the regulation of the state’s $10 billion insurance industry.

“I’m so humbled and honored to receive an award that celebrates Black leaders who are making a difference,” Nichols said. “Leadership is about investing in people and it’s an honor and privilege to help guide a community bank that is so dedicated to its associates and customers.”
