Le Roux Previously Ran Long-Shot Campaign For Governor That Netted Less than 4% of Votes But Still May Help Swing the District to the Democrats
IRVINE, CA / ACCESS Newswire / March 12, 2026 / There's an old saying politics "Republicans never blow an opportunity to blow an opportunity." And according to powerful Congressional candidate and attorney Eric J. Troutman that adage appears to be holding true in California's 47th Congressional district.

Troutman is furious about Le Roux's last-second entrance into a race she has "no chance" of winning.
With his Troutman For America campaign positioned to make a historic run at unseating "weakest Democrat" Dave Min, it looked like a November victory was well within reach. Headed into the March filing deadline Troutman was situated with a massive fundraising advantage-over 100 times the cash on hand of the leading Republican candidate-and had achieved over a quarter million followers on his blog AmericaDeservesToWin.com.
The campaign's momentum was very real and the foundation had seemingly been laid to unseat incumbent Dave Min and steal a seat from the Democrats in deep blue California. This seemingly should have delighted conservatives who would otherwise have no chance in this district following Prop 50.
But lurking in the shadows was a would-be usurper, Jenny Rae Le Roux- most famous for losing badly in a long-shot governors race in 2022-filed papers to join the race just at the deadline. Swift favorable news coverage from Fox News has already cast her as the presumptive Republican favorite.
According to Troutman For America, however, Le Roux' entrance into the race only helps incumbent Dave Min who benefits from Le Roux stealing votes for Troutman's campaign in the primary.
"Every vote for Jenny in the primary is a vote for Dave Min. Period." Troutman says definitively. "She has no legitimate chance in November against Min. What she could do, however, is potentially block the stronger Troutman for America campaign during the primary. That would be very unfortunate for people who want to see Dave Min out of office."
In Troutman's view Le Roux's entrance into the race is more about personal glory than any real desire to win the race.
"Doesn't seem like she is really that interested in winning anyway." Troutman says. "She couldn't even get four percent of the vote in her Governor's race. That was not a serious campaign and I don't see this one being any different."
Still Troutman views this as a great opportunity for his campaign.
"Rather obviously we will be fundraising based on the appearance of a MAGA extremist in this race. This is definitely not the sort of person the majority of voters in District 47 want to see on the ballot-and they know Troutman can deliver wins for this district that the Democrats simply cannot."
