LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESS Newswire / February 12, 2025 / The high-profile faith-based film, "Christmas Eve" will start shooting soon. The film focuses on eight incredible true stories of people who found Christ on Christmas Eve.
The film will be produced and directed by Timothy Chey and will star Kevin Sorbo.
The epic film will go from Brooklyn, NY in 1910 to the battlefields of World War II to Tokyo 2017 - all on Christmas Eve - and will put Christ back into Christmas in a major motion picture.
The studio is planning to release ‘Christmas Eve' into 1,800 theaters in November of this year.
"The world really needs a Savior right now and that Savior is Christ the Lord," says Tim Chey, the director. "This Christmas movie really reflects why we celebrate Christmas. There's never been a more important time to get this message across."
One of the stories involves the true story of a Colombian woman who was going to kill her husband on Christmas Eve by orders from Pablo Escobar. But that night, she heard a church singing ‘Silent Night'. Drawn into the church, she gave her life to Christ and told Escobar what happened at great risk to her life.
Chey uncovered the Columbian story as he traveled to over 29 countries for his ‘Epic Journey' film that aired prime-time on Daystar TV to 80 million homes.
Chey is a former atheist and Harvard alum who found Christ in a hotel room through a Gideon's Bible. He's also a litigation attorney and worked for a large law firm in Los Angeles before committing his life to Christ.
"I want to hit a home-run for the Lord and put Christ back into Christmas," says Chey. "All to bring glory to Jesus to make Him known throughout the world that he is Savior of the world."
Chey begins shooting ‘Christmas Eve' on April 8, 2025 and is currently in pre-production.
Chey's other films, "Freedom" (Cuba Gooding, Jr., Sharon Leal) for Showtime on the early life of John Newton, writer of ‘Amazing Grace', "David and Goliath" (Miles Sloman), "Slamma Jamma" for Sony Pictures, and his latest film ‘The Firing Squad' for Epoch Studios.
‘The Firing Squad' hit theaters nationwide last year in 800 cities. 'David and Goliath' has over 9.2 million views on Youtube.
