About Lakia Lewis-Latin

Ms. Lewis-Latin has worked for 20 years in patient access and pharmaceutical support. She currently serves as the director of Enterprise Patient Support Program (PSP) strategy at Boehringer Ingelheim. In this role, she is responsible for shaping and executing above-brand strategies, ensuring operational excellence, and driving governance and compliance across all PSP activities.

Ms. Lewis-Latin previously held several leadership roles at AbbVie, including director of access and reimbursement product ownership and platform enablement, director of program management strategy and associate director of program management strategy. These roles helped her develop strong skills in compliance, system design and improving access services for patients. Before that, she worked at Indivior Pharmaceuticals as the INSupport PSP implementation manager. At Indivior, she helped create and launch the patient support program for adults with schizophrenia, which became one of her most important career milestones.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Lewis-Latin worked at AmerisourceBergen/Lash Group, where she held several roles, including benefits specialist, reimbursement specialist, quality analyst and senior program manager. She entered through the Professional Accelerated Career Entry program (PACE), which helped her build her early leadership and program management skills. Her work there helped form the foundation for her future roles in hub strategy and patient access operations.

Ms. Lewis-Latin is active in industry organizations. She previously served as operations and supply chain lead for the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Council at AbbVie and is a member of Women of Color in Pharma. She also speaks at pharmaceutical and specialty pharmacy conferences. At these events, she shares best practices on building support programs, training professionals and improving patient education. She focuses on helping others understand how to use new technology to connect with patients while staying compliant and protecting patient information.

Ms. Lewis-Latin holds a master's degree in human resource management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University and a Master of Business Administration from the Jack Welch Management Institute. She also earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a graduate certificate in global supply chain management. She believes mentorship and resilience helped her grow into leadership roles, even when facing challenges.

A Notable Career

Ms. Lewis-Latin has received several honors, including a Therapeutic Business Unit Award for Copay Readiness at AbbVie in 2024 and two President's Awards for outstanding commercial operations at AbbVie in 2020 and 2022. She's also a member of the Delta Mu Delta International Academic Honor Society in Business. In her personal life, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her pets. She volunteers with Bernie's Books and values strong relationships and community connections.
