Along with excellence comes recognition. This famous quote, attributed to the English novelist William Makepeace, will become a guiding principle on March 20. Economist & Jurist Group, supported by more than a hundred professionals from the legal sector, has announced that it will host a gala to honor legal operators and outstanding professionals in the legal field, acknowledging their achievements, contributions, and leadership.
The event will take place at the auditorium of Santander’s corporate headquarters, located in the capital of Spain, at 11 Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena Street. It will gather dozens of renowned jurists advocating for better functioning of the Justice system. A list that already includes some notable names, such as Enrique Arnaldo, magistrate of the Constitutional Court; Salvador González, president of the CGAE; and Mª Emilia Adán García, dean of the National College of Registrars.
A total of 12 awards will be presented, divided into general, individual, and special categories. In the first block, awards will be given for the best legal advisory service, the best law firm, and the best boutique of the year. Additionally, awards will be granted for the best legal startup, the best project in innovation and digital transformation, and the best Pro Bono project.
In the second block, on an individual level, the best jurist of the year, the best young lawyer, and the José Juan Pinto Ruiz award, recognizing a lifetime devoted to Justice, will be presented.
Finally, in the special awards category, judicial independence will be recognized with a prize for a personality, institution, or project whose work has significantly contributed to strengthening judicial independence; the best deal of the year will also be awarded, along with a final award chosen by the readers of Economist & Jurist.
The deadline for submitting nominations opened on January 10 and will close at 23:59 on February 14, 2025. In this context, Pablo Capel, managing director of Economist & Jurist Group, stated that “being excellent is the guarantee that the rights of those seeking justice will be protected with the utmost rigor by each jurist. Excellence is not a trend, it is a way of being, and from E&J, we want to reward legal excellence.”
Nominations must be sent via email to the address: premios@economistjurist.es with the subject "CANDIDATURA I PREMIOS E&J Group". Proposers are encouraged to inform potential candidates of their nomination and obtain their consent. Submitting a nomination implies acceptance of these terms. A document of up to four pages must be attached, written in Times New Roman font, size 12. If deemed necessary, one of these pages may be used as a cover page. The content must clearly and concisely outline the reasons supporting the nomination as a winner, following the established evaluation criteria.
The use of graphics and other visual elements to enhance the presentation is allowed. Additionally, contact information and details of the person responsible for the nomination must be included. The finalists for each award will be published in the digital edition of Economist & Jurist by March 12, 2025, without prejudice to other media where the selection of finalists may also be announced.
