On December 2, 2008, Northeast Community Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the Company decided not to apply for participation in the U.S. Treasury Department’s Capital Purchase Program, which is a part of the broader Troubled Assets Relief Program (“TARP”).

The press release announcing the Company’s decision not to apply for participation in the TARP Capital Purchase Program is attached to this Report as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
