Item 8.01. Other Matters.

On September 8, 2008, OMNI Energy Services Corp. (the “Company”) reported that it sustained “very minimal” damage from Hurricane Gustav at its Fourchon, Venice, Morgan City, and Belle Chasse facilities in southern Louisiana.

The Company also said that its Texas, Utah and Wyoming facilities were unaffected by the storm, which hit the Louisiana Gulf Coast as a Category 2 hurricane on Monday, September 1, 2008.

A copy of the press release reporting the effects of Hurricane Gustav is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference. The press release should be read in conjunction with the note regarding forward-looking statements, which is included in the text of the press release.
