KURT HELLSTROM APPOINTED NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
London, UK - 9 December 2004: Spirent plc (LSE: SPT; NYSE: SPM), a leading
communications technology company, announces that Kurt Hellstrom has been
appointed as a non-executive director with effect from today.
Mr Hellstrom (60) was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of Ericsson
(Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson), a leading supplier of mobile communications
systems, having held a number of senior posts at the company over the last 20
years. He is currently also a member of the board of directors of Atlas Copco
AB, Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited, Kineto Wireless and Gemplus International
S.A.
Commenting on the appointment, John Weston, Chairman, said:

exceptional experience of the telecoms industry, in particular wireless
